Alone Together
spring 2024
Alone Together is a collection of different media that explores the feeling of loneliness while raising awareness about the topic. Using three different mediums, I had to stretch my ideas across multiple platforms including zines, posters, and sweatshirts.
Combining physical media like screen printed sweatshirts allowed me to use a physical texture that imitated the printmaking style throughout the zine and posters.
Zines
The zines that I created are a collection of art, poetry, statistics, and information that show solidarity to those who experience loneliness. A digital version of the zine can be found below.
Posters
I had a lot of fun with data visualization during this project. I was able to use unconventional subjects (people) as a way to represent numbers and statistics. The poster is a form of advertising for the zine and posters as an easily reproducible form of media that can reach a larger audience about my project.
Sweatshirts
The sweatshirts were a way of marketing the project in a fun and engaging way that my peers specifically would be drawn to. I screen printed the sweatshirts so that the book cover was on the back. I was surprised by how well this concept went over, and even got requests after the project to make more.
